Registration
While using this shop, you may be asked to register your details with us. When requested, simply follow the instructions on screen. To avoid interrupting your shopping experience, we recommend that you register with us beforehand by clicking on the Register link in the main menu. Once you are registered and logged in, the Register menu link will change to My Account – here you will be able to view the status of your order and your account details. You can Logout at any time by clicking on the logout link.
How To Shop
- To view products, select a category from the shop's Catalogue (on the far-left of the screen).
- Click on an item for information about the product, its cost, and customer reviews.
- Click on a product's thumbnail image to see a larger version (if available).
- To add an item to your cart, click on the picture of the shopping trolley on the right-hand side of the screen. (Please note that the trolley will not be visible if selected items are out of stock.)
- To change the quantity of items in your your cart, go to My Shopping Cart and change the quantity for the appropriate items to your desired amount. You can also use the X to completely clear specific products from the cart and, if you click on the clear link you will empty your entire cart.
- When you have finished shopping and are ready to pay:
⇒ Go to My Shopping Cart and then Proceed to Checkout.
⇒ Select a shipping method and then click Continue.
⇒ Select a payment method (cheque, credit card, or Paypal), click Continue, and then follow the on-screen instructions to complete payment.
⇒ You will then taken to the final checkout screen where you can review your details and leave any comments that are relevant to your order.
⇒ Click Place Order.
Searching the shop
Type your search keyword in the Search window and then click the magnifying glass icon. Enter a few appropriate keywords and this will give you a higher chance of finding what you are looking for. If no results are displayed you will also get the option to use an Advanced Search, which allows you to make more specific searches within any category. The Prices page is also a good way to view all of our products.
Viewing This Site
This site is best viewed with a screen resolution of at least 800 x 600 pixels, though we recommend an optimum screen resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels where available.
We also advise that you set your screen to show at least 256 colours.
To change either your screen resolution or colour arrangement, find your computer’s ‘Control Panel’ in ‘Settings’, and then go to ‘Display’.
Using This Site (General)
- Use the menu links at the top of the screen to move around the site or click straight on a category link.
- ‘Breadcrumb’ links at the top of the screen tell you where you are in the site and how you got there (e.g. Home > Products > Categories).
- To return to the home page, click on ‘Home’ from either the menu bar or the breadcrumb links.
- To bookmark this site, you can either hold down Ctrl + D on your keyboard, or go to the bookmarks option on your browser’s toolbar and select ‘Add’.
- If you have any special purchase or delivery needs, please clearly describe them in the ‘Comments’ field at checkout.
Troubleshooting
I don’t want people to have access to my account – I’m using a public computer and it has stored my details.
When you first entered your account details, a ‘cookie’ file was sent to your computer which told it to automatically remember your account information. Our site doesn't automatically remember passwords, so this will be a setting you need to adjust on your browser or firewall. Do not disable all cookies as they are required for the shop to work properly.
Even though I’ve tried to purchase an item, my ‘basket’ says it’s empty.
It may be the case that your cookies are disabled. See ‘Browser Settings / Cookies’ for instructions on how to enable your cookies.
I can’t see any of the site’s buttons to access products or navigate throughout the site.
First try ‘refreshing’ your page: press the F5 key on the keyboard. Are the buttons still missing? If so, it may be the case that you are viewing the site without its frames. Did you access the site through a search engine? Try clicking on the ‘Home’ page from either the top menu or breadcrumbs. The page should re-open with the buttons in place. If it doesn’t, please report the problem by contacting us.
Browser Settings / Cookies
If you are experiencing difficulties when trying to use this shop because you cannot add items to your ‘basket’ or adjust quantities, it may be the case that your web browser (e.g. Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox) has its ‘cookies’ disabled.
Cookies allow a site to store essential information about a site visitor; for example, user information and shopping cart contents. If your browser’s cookie settings are disabled, this information cannot be stored and this will inhibit your ability to use the shop.
You need to check whether or not your cookies are enabled. Most web browsers function in the same way and this process is relatively simple: Open your browser and go to the ‘Tools’ option from the top toolbar.
If you are using Mozilla Firefox, a new window will open with a list of options. One of those options will be ‘Cookies’. From this, check the box that says ‘Allow sites to set cookies’.
If you are using Internet Explorer, a new window will open with a list of options in tabs (see below). Go to ‘Privacy’, then ‘Advanced’. An additional window will open. Click on ‘Override automatic cookie handling’, set ‘Third-party cookies’ to ‘Accept’ and then click the ‘OK’ button.
If you have security concerns about other sites storing cookies, you can use the same procedure to block cookies again after you have finished shopping. Or, if you have firewall protection on your computer, you can set it so that third-party cookies are accepted for this site only.
Java and JavaScript
For this site to function properly, you will also need to make sure that your browser has both Java and JavaScript enabled, otherwise some elements of pages may not be displayed properly.
Firewall Settings
Firewall settings enable your computer to limit and control incoming and outgoing information between it and the internet.
